Public Prosecutor´s office opens investigation against Superintendent Carlos Ochoa
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation against Superintendent of Communication and Information Carlos Ochoa, for the alleged forgery documents and the use of forged documents.
The complaint was filed by Cesar Ricaurte, director of Fundamedios, for the alleged perpetration of the crime of falsification of public documents and the use of the same, in relation to the alteration made by the Superintendency, directed by Ochoa, to the second paragraph of the sixth transitory provision of the Communications Law, when printing 300,000 paperbacks.
The most serious is that this allegedly falsified regulation, according to Fundamedios, would have sanctioned at least 22 radio stations since 2014. Since January 2016, 11 media have been sanctioned with the modified transitory provision of Article 103. Fines total more than USD 40,000.
