Ecuadornews:

The Attorney General’s Office carried out a raid at the home of former IESS coordinator Maria Sol Larrea for a case of illicit enrichment. The operation left as a result several weapons and documents seized.
Today, August 10, 2017, the Attorney General’s Office published the articles seized via Twitter along with the description: “Transparency and Anti-Corruption Unit – FGE during the raid in case of illicit enrichment of IESS former employee.“
Larrea has been detained since August 5, as does her husband, Marcelo Espín. In the case of Espín, the accusation is for alleged private unjustified enrichment.
If the Prosecutor’s Office manages to prove Larrea’s guilt, the former official could be sentenced to 7 to 10 years in prison.
As confirmed by the Office of the Prosecutor this morning, evidence of bills, money, weapons, and jewels was found in the property raided. According to reports from the prosecution, both sent money abroad through a third person: Marcela U., who “despite having no commercial or labor dependency, recorded revenues of approximately USD 88,000 between 2014 and 2016.” (I)
