Rains isolate villages and impact the country’s economy
This is not “El Niño” that we were waiting, said the hydrology and meteorology experts. “However, the consequences of this anomaly has stroke hard the local economy”.
Eleven provinces were affected by this winter season: Guayas, Los Ríos, El Oro, Manabí, Azuay, Bolívar, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Pastaza, Esmeraldas and Loja.
Three points summarize the hard impact: broken roads, thousands of hectares of farmland flooded and hundreds of people without their sources of employment.
The transportation sector and by extension the users and its commerce- felt the blow to the pocket cause by the damage on roads and landslides. (I)
