Syrian rebels started a major offensive operation in the Aleppo region, their purpose is to strike at security compounds and bases around Syria’s largest city.

For weeks the Syrian regime has bombed Aleppo in order to remove the rebel threat. A brigade of army defectors who have experience in operating artillery and tanks leads the rebel offensive in Aleppo.

According to activist Mohammed Saeed, the first attacks began shortly before midnight Thursday and lasted until Friday, the offensive launched was a coordinated series of strikes on several security compounds in Aleppo.

The rebels attacked four security buildings in Aleppo, using weapons such as tanks, rocket launchers and assault rifles. The state news agency SANA, informed that the regime troops killed and wounded several rebels in the clashes. AV
