Ecuador Seeking Peace Talk With FARC
Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Ricardo Patiño, says that the State has offered to establish a dialogue between the two sides since there is an armed struggle between the guerrillas.
“Ecuadorians are confident that the peace talks in Colombia will have successful results. Count on us as we can serve you”, said Patiño.
Correa said he hoped that this time the negotiations will be successful and end with a war of over 50 years.
“If you ever wanted FARC to achieve social justice through armed struggle, you know now that goal was lost. It’s now or never that the FARC and other Colombian rebel groups to achieve peace and do something good for Colombia and the entire continent (…) Let´s hope that this peace process will reach a successful conclusion and end this fratricidal war that has lasted half a century and lost its reason (…).”
