Request for judicial confession was filed
The Civil Judicial Unit of Quito filed a request for judicial confession raised by the former Secretary of Communications (Secom) and now Minister of Tourism Fernando Alvarado, against the journalist Roberto Aguilar.
On November 18, Judge Gabriela Lemos gave her judgement after giving effect to the preparatory proceeding of judicial confession and because this was the only activity Aguilar was accused of, “the case was filed.”
On November 17 Aguilar came to this unit to respond to ten questions required by Alvarado, but he only answered three, because the other seven were objected by the judge.
The three questions sought, according to his lawyers Daniela Salazar, Juan Pablo Alban and Farith Simon, that he admits he is the author and representative of the blog Estado de Propaganda (Propaganda State).
In that proceeding, Alvarado was represented by the lawyer of the Secom, Paul Velez Zapata. And until the close of the process the Minister of Tourism did not comment on the ruling.
