Retirees request audience with Rafael Correa
The approval of the Law of the Elderly in the National Assembly is one of the requests that the directors of the National Coordinator of Retirees of Ecuador (Coorjube for its Spanish acronym) made yesterday to President Rafael Correa through a communiqué sent to the Carondelet Palace.
The document requests a hearing with the president for next Monday, November 23. Alfonso Yanez, vice president of the organization, said that the board met Monday to discuss this and other issues, such as the closure of the registration desk for retirement, non-payment of bonds of excellence, among others.
“We want a direct dialogue with the president. In particular, to promote adoption of the Law for the Elderly which is forgotten in the Assembly,” said Yanez. This organization will support the mobilization of November 11th.
