Rodrigo Riofrio is no longer an ambassador
The Foreign Ministry issued a statement, in which it announced “the completion of functions of Ecuador’s ambassador in Peru”, making it clear that the decision had been “taken at the request of ambassador Riofrio himself.”
Likewise, the Foreign Ministry also said Riofrio “will go to another foreign embassy to be announced later,” and in the coming days, “the new ambassador to represent our country as head of mission to the Republic of Peru,” will be appointed.
On its behalf, Peru, informed that Javier Leon Olavarria stopped being its representative in Quito. In his case, “will assume a senior position in the Foreign Ministry.”
Meanwhile, attorney Flor Maria Hurtado and director of the Movimiento Colectivo Alternativa Verde of Peru, reported that the Ecuadorian ambassador Rodrigo Riofrio has already been criminally charged for his acts of aggression on two Peruvian women.
