Roger Federer defeats Zverev in exhibition match in Quito
Swiss tennis player Roger Federer and German Alexander Zverev played an exhibition match in Quito, today, Sunday, November 24, 2019, as part of their Latin American tour that has taken him through countries such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador.

Encounter ended with a victory for Federer 6-3, 6-4, in the Rumiñahui General Coliseum.
Before the game, Ecuadorian tennis players Valentina Ponce-Said Santin and Tania Andrade-Alfredo Gallegos (doubles), as well as Emilio Gómez and Giovanni Lapentti faced each other.
Both Federer and Zverev showed professionalism in each of their plays. However, they had several moments of relaxation.
The Swiss received several samples of affection from the attendees, many of them carried banners with affectionate phrases for the Swiss tennis player. Federer received gifts from his fans and even gave autographs.
He did it between the game and before the closing ceremony. For a few seconds, Nicolás Lapentti played with Federer, after the invitation made by the Swiss. The public burst into jubilation at the voice of “Olé, olé, olé, olé, Nicooo, Nicooo”.
Once the exhibition match was over, Federer and Zverev received a trophy from the organizers.
“It was a big surprise to have played here, thank you very much for the opportunity to invite me. I loved playing in the Middle of the World, everything I have done here was fantastic. Quito I am very grateful, it has been nice. Thank you Nico for inviting me and making this possible, ”said the Swiss, but not before assuring that he would like to return to the country.
