Roque Moreira Cedeño assumes the general command of the Armed Forces

The command of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces changes its name. Executive Decree 390 was appointed on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 as general commander of the Army to the division general, Roque Apolinar Moreira Cedeño.
He will replace General Edison Narváez Rosero who was in that position and was dismissed by President Lenín Moreno by decree.
Moreira was born on February 13, 1961, in the canton of El Carmen, province of Manabí, and graduated as second lieutenant of communications at the Escuela Superior Eloy Alfaro on August 10, 1981.
In his 36 years of trajectory he has served as chief of the Operational General Staff of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces; director of operations of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces; commander of the First Division of Shyris Army; commander of the Special Forces Brigade No. 9 Patria, among other important functions.
During his military career he has also held promotion courses, military courses and seminars, among which stand out: skydiving, counterinsurgency, and commands. (I)
