Sale of riot control equipment to Venezuela is suspended by Spain

The Spanish government has indefinitely suspended the export of riot control material to Venezuela, before the acts of violence prevailing since early February.

The decision was adopted by the Interministerial Regulatory Board on Foreign Trade in Defence and Dual Use (JIMDDU) on 6 March, but was not made ​​public.

This is an unilateral measure, recognize diplomatic sources, because so far there is no international embargo against Venezuela.

Venezuela is one of the first customers of the Spanish companies that manufacture riot control equipment.
