Salinas, home to the global gastronomy festival

Twenty chefs from different countries of America and Europe will participate on 16 and 17 September in the first international congress of gastronomy “Spondylus 2016,” to be held in the Salinas resort, in the province of Santa Elena.
Chefs from Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Spain, Italy and Ecuador will present the different traditional dishes from each of their countries. In addition, they will make a live cooking presentation so attendees can see the experts in action.
Roberto Rabotti, of the gastronomic academic network of Ecuador, one of the institutions that organize the event, said that among the guest chefs will be John Hassan, one of the pioneers in turning the Margaritas Islands (Venezuela) in a gastronomic destination in South America.
A lounge of the Barceló Colón Miramar Hotel will be conditioned for the event. In addition there will be exhibition stands for handicrafts.
