Whale watching in the Galapagos drives implementation of protocols
Killer whales, sperm whales, humpback whales, among other cetacean species include the Galapagos Marine Reserve on their migratory routes. Fact that arouses greatest tourist and scientific interest in this whale sanctuary.
This Saturday, the PNG published in their social networks that the high presence of these species during this season has prompted the implementation of “best practice protocols for whale watching” to be resumed.
It has been documented in the Galapagos Archipelago the presence of 23 cetacean species at different times of the year and according to the characteristics of each, details the publication.
The PNG highlights the photograph of Chauca Camilo, who managed to record the time a male killer whale is hunting a sea turtle. Specialists explain that most likely is that the animal was using the turtle to teach its baby hunting techniques.
