September, month of electoral definition in Ecuador

September is shaping up as the month of definitions for most political organizations enabled to run in the electoral contest, on February 2017.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) will call elections for October 18 and the next day will open enrollment applications until November 18.

At least five presidential definitions would materialize throughout this month.

On September 17, “Izquierda Democratica”(ID) will confirm whether to run on its own or join the leftist trends called the National Agreement for Change.

This coalition, which already has candidates as Lourdes Tibán, from Pachakutik; Lenin Hurtado, “Unidad Popular”; and Enrique Ayala Mora, for the academics, will define its position two days after the ID.
