Several political leaders gathered to “Dialogue for a Possible Ecuador”
On May 12, several political leaders met in a “Dialogue for a Possible Ecuador.”
Topics such as security, free speech, environment, poverty, justice were issues raised by the event organizar, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Quito, Blasco Peñaherrera.
However, none of the guests discussed these points in depth, but focused their speeches on criticizing the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa.
Activist and television anchor Carlos Vera said (Correa) is not invatible at the polls if the opposition unites to the electoral process of 2013.
Assemblyman Cesar Montufar called on all sectors to promote dialogue and agreements.
Among the political figures that attended this dialogue were Betty Amores (not affiliated to a party), Cesar Montufar (Concertación Party), Andres Paez (ID Party), Luis Fernando Torres (PSC Party), Carlos Vera (not affiliated to a party), Martha Roldós (RED Party), and Lucio Gutierrez (SP Party).
Guillermo Lasso (not affiliated), Paco Moncayo (Alianza Libertad), Lourdes Tibán (PK) and Galo Mora (AP) were did not attend the meeting due to personal business or travel. (FL)
