Shakira will be the person of the year at the Latin Grammys

Shakira will be honored as Person of the Year at the Latin Grammys‘ ceremony to be held on November 9 in Las Vegas.
“We recognize the professional achievements and philanthropic and cultural contributions of Shakira,” the academy said in a statement. In addition, a percentage of the gala will benefit the foundation of the artist “Pies descalzos“.
In addition to leading the Pies Descalzos Foundation, which has worked with schools in Latin America, Haiti and South Africa and fed 6,000 children, Shakira has worked with the World Bank education projects and is an ambassador for Unicef Goodwill.
The singer of “Loca” began its work this month as a member of a committee to advise the President Barack Obama on how to improve the education of Hispanics.
