Social networks have become in recent weeks in the window of the Alianza PAIS party window to ventilate their internal problems and the verbal confrontation of the last two months. Through this channel, the presidential counselor Ricardo Patiño and the executive secretary of the ruling party, Gabriela Rivadeneira, expressed their position on the meeting they will hold in Belgium with former President Rafael Correa.
The goal is to settle the internal struggle, a task Patiño admitted will be “difficult,” given the level of confrontation between the two top leaders, President Lenin Moreno and Rafael Correa. Before traveling on Saturday, Rivadeneira clarified that his trip to Brussels that she does not seek to mediate the fight.
“I´m traveling to Belgium to meet with Rafael Correa. It is not a ‘mediation,’ it is an encounter with the maximum leader of the Citizen Revolution,” she said.
According to the National Secretariat of the Policy, Patino will meet with European parliamentarians as a delegate of President Lenin Moreno, although until yesterday no official delegation decree had been signed.
