About $ 900 million would cost the Sopladora Hydroelectric Plant, located in the provincial limit of Azuay and Morona Santiago, in the Sevilla de Oro and Santiago de Mendez counties.
This was estimated yesterday by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Esteban Albornoz.
The official said that the cost of civil works, electromechanical equipment, supervision, and other land compensations reached $ 755 million. There was Chinese finance by 85%, ie $ 672 million, for the cost of civil works and electromechanical equipment.
“Another thing it the already built project because we had to take geological risks, construction issues, anyway. We believe that costs can be around 900 million, to have a finished plant and ready to operate,” the official said when announcing that the work will be inaugurated tomorrow.
In April, during the weekly address No. 473, President Rafael Correa announced that the Government is preparing the sale of various assets and the seized TV networks TC Television and Gamatv, the Pacific Bank, the National Telecommunications Corporation (NTC), Flopec, and the Sopladora hydroelectric plant.
