Spanish Banking Suspends Evictions for Two Years

Today the Spanish Banking Association (AEB for its Spanish acronym) announced his commitment to paralyse home evictions of those that do not pay their mortgage during the next two-year in the cases that “involve circumstances of extreme need” of the affected, which could be unemployed.
The report was carried out by the AEB, which pointed that this commitment responds to “humanitarian reasons” that was informed the Ministry of Economy and the Bank of Spain. The agreement was reached after an intense debate of the associated banks, AEB told that it was made “with the purpose of contributing to palliate the homeless situation of many people causes by the economic crisis that affects the country.”
Since the beginning of the crisis in Spain, back in 2007, around 400,000 people had to deliver their homes since they could not pay their mortgage.
