Spanish Government Remembers the Hipercor Victims
The interior minister, Jorge Fernandez Diaz, admitted that the State has recognized “lately” the suffering of the victims of Hipercor and regrets the years it waited to compensate them in a solemn way.
The recognition event was performed this Tuesday to commemorate the victims of the XXV anniversary of the attack to Hipercor in Barcelona, by the Basque terrorist group ETA which left 21 dead and 45 wounded. Fernandez pointed out that they will not forget the victims as well as their ethic and moral testimony.
According to Fernandez “ETA set a high standard of cruelty”, however it also increased the standard of solidarity after the attack. Finally Fernandez assured that the Government “will never negotiate with the terrorist group,” not even with the inmates and that the only solution is the compliance of the law.
Meanwhile the National Hearing absolved 11 members of Basque political parties like D3M and Askatasuna since they did not supported the terrorist group in a conscious way. (AV)
