Starting Tomorrow No One Can Order Advertising
Posted On 08 Mar 2011
Since tomorrow there will rule the order that any media may distribute advertising and blurb financed by the Ecuadorian State following the decision taken by the National Electoral Council on the basis of the forthcoming referendum scheduled for this May 7.
The 115th art. of the constitution prohibits the use of resources and infrastructure of state and government advertising for political campaigns.
Omar Simons, president of the CNE, warned in case of contempt of these regulations there will suspend broadcasts of commercials. Likewise, the Electoral Tribunal may punish the media with a fine of 50 thousand to 100 thousand dollars.
