The declaration of a state of emergency in 17 of the 24 provinces of the country, adopted by the government on November 18th to face the meteorological phenomenon El Niño, ended yesterday when 60 days were met since its implementation. The measure affected 17 of 24 provinces, which include all jurisdictions of the coast and towns located in the foothills of the western mountain range.
Although forecasts made during the past year spoke of a meteorological phenomenon with a strong impact, of greater dimensions than previous years, El Niño is developing with minor incidents to date.
