Posted On 30 Aug 2011
Luis Leon Anzoategui , 24, and sixth-year medicine student at the State University, was held this morning for about half an hour for “insulting” President Rafael Correa during his visit to Abel Gilbert Ponton hospital in Guayaquil. After being released, the young man said he approached Correa and told: “I dreamed you were a corrupt” and was then apprehended.”It was a comment… just a criticism, never disrespect him, are all recorded, I do not know what will come out, I never was disrespectful to the President, when the university authorities met with the officials, there was constructive criticism regarding this system thinking that medicine is formed out of a hospital, the laboratory of medical students is the same hospital and it’s absurd to want to eliminate practices,” said Anzoátegui.
“I’m waiting to see what is going to be published, misinformation, what is going to be edited, because I imagine that everything will be distorted, I will look like a mental guy or worse, simply for telling the truth to Mr.President, ” he added.
