SuperCom postpones hearing against Bonil
Posted On 13 Jan 2015
The Superintendency of Communication (SuperCom for its Spanish acronym) decided to postpone the hearing against cartoonist Javier Bonilla, known as ‘Bonil’, he posted yesterday on his Twitter account.
The complaint against him was accepted on November 5 and Bonil was summoned to the hearing on January 16. However, Bonilla indicated in his social network, two days after the attack against the French caricaturists, that the SuperCom postponed the event for February 9.
Bonil was accused by a group of Afro-Ecuadorian organizations for alleged discrimination in one of his cartoons.
Bonil questioned whether the change of date of the hearing is to wait for “the numbness of the Charlie Hebdo cartoons issue.”
