According to Álvaro Sáenz, Executive Secretary of the National Council for Childhood and Adolescence (in transition to the Council for the Intergenerational Equality), the complaint includes the media since the channel supports this type of programs considered by them as discriminatory.
He added that his complaint is not related to that presented by the Association GLBTI Silueta X, although they have the same purpose: to reject the discrimination that is generated in those areas, and he hopes that citizenship, producers and claimant groups could dialogue on the issue to reach a consensus that would allow the production of creative programs with better content.
He also explains that the complaint against the three TV Shows is based on a study carried out during the second half of the last year and published in January, called, ‘Diversity and discrimination in the media’, which took more than 60 samples (chapters) with discriminatory content.
At the moment, the Supercom has not acted on the lodged complaints.
