Obama meets visit to Japan
The U.S. President, Barack Obama, began this Wednesday a tour in four countries of Asia, which is intended to assure allies in that region that the United States remains a reliable partner in the economic, military and political spheres.
Obama’s trip aims to reinforce economic relations and regional security, a strategy to rebalance the power in the region against the hegemony of China.
Likewise, Obama expressed support for Japan in its territorial dispute over the islands known as Senkaku Islands in Japan and Diaoyu Islands in China, located in the East China Sea.
Tomorrow Thursday, Obama will first attend an official welcoming ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, and later he will meet Emperor Akihito, before offering a joint press conference with the Japanese Prime Minister.
