Supply of illegal alcohol grows in December
Posted On 09 Dec 2015
Small vehicles park in front of liquor stores in groups of two or three, pretending to be customers, but they are bootleggers who daily come to Quito stores offering illegal products.
Those who have seen them say they are people that before offering the smuggling, pretend to be interested in expensive bottles. After choosing a product, they ask to speak with the owner of the business and ask where the they bought the bottles.
Once they know the origin they contact the traders. They offer the same bottles at three times lower prices. For example, if a bottle of whiskey costs $ 200, they offer it at $ 50.
