Syrian Demonstrations Escalate Violently

Security Forces in Syria clashed with several demonstrators as thousands gathered across the country calling for President Bashar al-Assad to resign.
There were reports that informed how the Security Forces opened fire to the opposition activists. According to other demonstrators 11 people perished during the hostile response of the Security Forces. Protests escalated in several provinces of the country, Deraa, Idlib, Hama, Homs and several other cities.
The State media has informed that seven government soldiers have been killed and 32 were wounded those clashes. Meanwhile the UN estimates that around 2,700 people have been killed during the violent crackdown of the government on pro-reform protests. (AV)
