TCE refers a case of Social Justice for an electoral judge to execute a reparation sentence for candidacies, among them that of Álvaro Noboa

The Contentious Electoral Tribunal (TCE) forwarded the entire file of the case related to the Social Justice Movement to the judge of first instance of the present case, Arturo Cabrera, “to process the execution of the sentence issued by the Plenary of the Contentious Electoral Tribunal, last October 30 ”.

At noon on October 30 last, the Plenary of the TCE resolved three points: deny the appeal presented by Diana Atamaint, president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), against the sentence handed down on October 6 last by Judge Cabrera; and modify it in relation to annulling Resolution PLE-CNE-3-16-9-2020, leaving firm two resolutions through which it was resolved to grant and maintain legal status and registration of the Social Justice Movement , List 11, in the Permanent Registry of Political Organizations of the CNE.
As a third point, the Plenary of the TCE issued several comprehensive reparation measures. Among them is that the CNE will adopt, within two days after the execution of this sentence, all the pertinent administrative measures so that the organs of the Social Justice Movement and their legal representatives at the national, provincial and foreign circumscriptions have the Adequate time and means, under equal conditions that other political organizations had, to carry out acts of internal democracy, registration and qualification of candidates for the dignities constant in the Call for General Elections of 2021.
He also urged the CNE to include in the Regulation of Cancellation, Liquidation and Extinction of Political Organizations a provision that sets the time at least 90 days before the call for elections for the cancellation or extinction of political organizations to be registered in the Permanent Registry of Political Organizations, so that they and the citizens have information and the appropriate time to prepare the processes of internal democracy and participation in electoral processes.
Finally, the Plenary of the TCE ordered in its resolution at the end of last October that once this judgment is executed, the process be archived.
The notification of the ECA of November 19 last comes six days after the General Secretariat of that body received a letter signed by Mr. Jimmi Salazar Sánchez, national executive director in charge of the Social Justice Movement, in which he requested the execution of the sentence of October 30, 2020, adopted by the Plenary of the Contentious Court.
The group has announced the nomination of Álvaro Noboa and Gino Cornejo as presidential binomial. In addition, the lists of candidates for the National Assembly and the Andean Parliament are prepared. (I)
