The advisory board says no to higher tariffs

The tourism sector is the first to analyze five axes in the consultative tables: competitiveness, innovation and quality, investment and financing, tributes, productive environment, and market access. Employers disagree with an increase in import tariffs because it affects production when inputs or spare parts are on the luxury goods list.
President of the Federation of Provincial Chambers of Tourism Holbach Muñetón explained that it is necessary to reduce the tariffs that are charged for imported inputs. “Because for the tourism sector, sheets and air conditioning are capital goods, they are not a luxury; they are part of what businesses (hotels) need to work well.”
15 proposals were prioritized, including the idea of exempting taxes such as VAT to promote national tourism. (I)
