The Afro people and their three axes of claim

These are the three axes the International Decade of People of African Descent proclaimed on December 23, 2013 by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). The same postulates are the basis of the executive order that will be signed today by President Rafael Correa as a commitment of Ecuador to this proclamation.

There is a historical state debt with the Afro-Ecuadorian people, several leaders of this population agree on this. In education, economic development, employment opportunities, unsatisfied basic needs … the list is extensive. That is why the Afro-Ecuadorian population hopes that the Decade and the signing of the decree can be a turning point to find what they want: equity.
