The American Civil War in 3D

It is not a Hollywood adaptation of the conflicts occurred in the U.S. between 1861 and 1865, it is a new app for iPad that allows users to view images of the American Civil War in 3D, yes in 3D.

Images taken by photographers such as Mathey Brady and Alexander Gardner are included in the application called “3D History: Civil War.” This educational app contains 24 images that were produced from negatives on glass plates of the Congress Library, each pic has comments.

This application, created by Matt Raymond (former communications director of the library), will be useful for many history teachers and it is available at the iTunes store for $ 1.99.
