Prosecutor Diana Salazar found evidence of criminal liability against Vice-President Jorge Glas. This announcement was made at a press conference by Attorney General Carlos Baca Mancheno the afternoon of August 21, 2017. However, judicial proceedings, in the case of an alleged illegal association, can only be carried out with prior authorization from the Legislature.
“The request for binding is based on the evidence gathered in the preliminary inquiry for the crime of illicit association,” said the Attorney General. This file opened since last June, and seven people have been tried, including Ricardo Rivera, uncle of the Vice President.
