The Council of Higher Education declares ‘leaderless’ the Andean University
Posted On 16 Aug 2016
Rene Ramirez, the public official who chairs the Higher Education Council (CES for its Spanish acronym), announced that the agency will declare, from tomorrow, the Simon Bolivar Andean University ´leaderless.´
According to the bureaucrat, the deadline stipulated for the CES to choose a new interim president of the university ended on August 15, 2016. This happens after Ramirez dismissed Jaime Breilh for not attending a meeting summoned by him.
The main consequence is that the ESC will ignore all actions that come from the president of the Andean University. Breilh would be the second president besieged by the government after Cesar Montano was not recognized president following the defeat of candidate Raul Vallejo in the last elections.
