The Ecuadorian government awards the construction of Puerto Bolívar to a Turkish firm
Yesterday (February 29, 2016), President Rafael Correa announced the awarding of the concession of the Puerto Bolivar berth, in El Oro province, to the Turkish consortium Yilport. This firm is the only one that took part in the public tender of the Port Authority of Puerto Bolívar (APPB) in June 2015.
“The concession of the Puerto Bolivar Port Authority was awarded to the Turkish company Yilport on February 24th. This is an investment of more than USD 700 million; Yilport is a company with extensive experience in port management, that will boost Puerto Bolivar at the global level,” Correa said in the context of the opening of the Portovelo-Salati-Ambocas route in northeast El Oro.
