Alvaro Noboa would run for president with his new party
Businessman and former presidential hopeful Alvaro Noboa will submit today about 273 thousand signatures to the National Electoral Council (CNE) in order to conduct the verification process that allows the registration of his new party: Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante.
The provisional national director of that political group, Wilson Sanchez, stated that the creation of the organization aims to participate in the presidential elections of 2017 with Noboa in front, and present aspiring Assembly members.
Sanchez announced they will request the assignment of mailbox number 7 to the CNE, which was used by the Institutional Renewal Party of National Action (Prian), which was removed from the electoral register for failing to meet a minimum electoral support in two consecutive elections.
Together with the signatures forms, 18 provincial directives of the 12 requested by the Code of Democracy will be presented.
For a political party or movement to be approved at least 175,000 verified signatures are needed.
