The Finance Ministry will transfer $ 43 million for the Manabi GAD´s due to earthquake

The Government is working on three fronts since last Saturday to face the economic scenario left by the earthquake that affected Manabi and the south of Esmeraldas in a great extent.The immediate activity is to mobilize resources to ensure the rescue of victims and keep those affected in the best conditions; the second is to collect information on losses in order to rebuild the affected areas and finally a budget reprogramming.
This was stated Monday by Finance Minister Fausto Herrera, after attending a cabinet meeting in Carondelet.
According to Herrera, the government has already foreseen about $ 600 million in contingency credit lines by multilateral bodies such as the IDB ($ 300 million), CAF ($ 150 million) and the World Bank ($ 150 million). That is, a first source will be a higher debt.
It is expected that $ 160 million of these external resources that will be delivered to various public entities such as the Police, the Armed Forces, the Air Force, the Risk Secretariat, the Ministry of Health, Mies, Ministry of Public Works, among others, arrive this week.
