The GCC Celebrated its 122nd Anniversary
The Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce (GCC) held its 122 anniversary this June 9th at the Hilton Colon Hotel.
The ceremony was dedicated to members who have been members of the chamber for 70 to 50 years, and recognized companies such as Cartonera Noboa, which was awarded a medal, received by Industrial Molinera’s General Manager, Mr. Gustavo Negrete Ugalde, who attended on behalf of Alvaro Noboa.
Moreover, Dr. Eduardo Peña, chairman of the GCC, gave special awards to Maria Gloria Alarcón Alcívar, former president of the organization, as well as Vicente Ahuad Herales for business merit, Carlos Sánchez Aguilar for civic merit aid because his Sánchez Aguilar foundation that provides help to the community; José Barragán Salazar, received a medal for Banco Bolivariano’s 100 years.
Peña emphasized the chamber’s strategic plan, which aims to use technology resources to optimize and make the interaction between members and the chamber faster, for example, by enabling online payments and inquiries.
In addition, Gonzalo Marroquín, President of the Inter American Press Associationwattended the ceremony as a special guest.
