Daily Global Guild Asks Correa to Withdraw Suit Against El Universo

The World Association of Newspapers and News Editors (Wan Ifra) requested to the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, to withdraw a lawsuit against El Universo, saying that that is an attack to intimidate the media, according to a letter released this Thursday in Quito.

“We appeal once again to you to ask you to drop the charges against El Universo, three of its managers and journalist Emilio Palacio,” the organization said in the letter issued by Ecuadorian observatory Fundamedios.
