With the market exit of Super gas another unsubsidized gas would enter
Super gas would disappear from the market and would be replaced by another of better quality in order to eliminate the subsidy. This, according to a bill to be submitted by EP Petroecuador, as reported yesterday by its manager Carlos Pareja Yannuzzelli.
The state company reported in a release that Pareja raises as an entrepreneurial initiative “the elimination of subsidies to the super gas which cost the state $ 140 million.”
On Executive Order 799, which eliminates the subsidy to diesel, bunker fuel oil, liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, jet fuel, for the industrial, aviation and shipping industry, Pareja ratified that the measure impacts on large industries, and said it would affect 1% of costs and does not have to be passed on to consumers.
