The IMF suggested a wage adjustment plan for Ecuador
Manager of the Central Bank Diego Martinez, in an interview with daily El Comercio, talked about the salary adjustment plan of the IMF.
Martinez explains that no Ecuadorian authority has made a request for additional time. “The IMF gives countries the power to decide not to publish the analysis if they do not agree with the IMF. For some years the Government has decided to publish these and others not. We are in talks with the IMF because the current dynamics of the Ecuadorian economy have serious discrepancies.”
The IMF has suggested that Ecuador should consider a wage adjustment policy, including a private one. At the time the Government will take a decision whether or not it will publish article IV.
