The Indigenous people join the protests
On Saturday night they arrived in Quito to support the protesters who remain outside the National Council (CNE) since April 2nd.
They are tired; not everyone has mattresses to lie down. Some came with their children, others only with their wives.
They ask for the recount of votes to verify if the presidential candidate Guillermo Lasso was the winner of the runoff.
They came from the Amazon and the highlands (Cotopaxi and Imbabura).
José Andrango is from Otavalo and came with other members of his community. “We want a change of Government. It´s been many years of the same. Correa brought unemployment and did not keep his promises; we live in bad conditions,” he told Daily Expreso.
