Ecuadornews:
The Ecuadorian Standardization Service seeks to adopt international quality standards, with a view to developing goods that compete in the world market and not only in the local market, says Executive Director of the Agency César Díaz Guevara. The goal is to have a catalog, where 80% of the standards are international, “because that allows Ecuador to position itself on the world market.”
He added that for this purpose the agency is now representative of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the IEC (standards for the electricity sector), and ITU (for all telecommunications and the food code). (I)
