The people will have to choose between two units of political opposition according to Guillermo Lasso
The leader of the political movement CREO, Guillermo Lasso, said yesterday that there are two units of political opposition in the country: “The one that simply wants to change (President Rafael) Correa or the one like us, that wants to change the `correísmo´ in Ecuador,” and the people will be the ones who decide to which adhere.
Lasso, without giving names, drew the distance with the other opposition group formed in Cuenca by the mayors of Quito and Guayaquil, Mauricio Rodas and Jaime Nebot, and the Prefect of Azuay, Paul Carrasco.
About elections of 2017, the leader said that CREO, will not join in political alliances, but will have its own candidates. He also insisted on a referendum for the people of Ecuador to rule on indefinite reelection. Regarding the socialization of the amendments, said that the assembly members of the ruling party “intend to turn the Assembly in a private club of political power in Ecuador.”
César Monge, national director of the movement, said that CREO is positioned as the first opposition force that seeks a better future for Ecuadorians.
