Publication of Spanish daily El País is called into question by President Correa

President Rafael Correa questioned the article in the Spanish daily El País about Villavicencio and Jimenez
Through his Twitter account, President Rafael Correa, put under questioning a publication of the Spanish newspaper El Pais about the former opposition Assemblyman Cléver Jiménez and his adviser Fernando Villavicencio.
“Those convicted of insulting Correa no longer have to hide” is the name of the article published in this journal, indicating the decision of an Ecuadorian judge to prescribe the prison sentence against Jimenez and Villavicencio, who are described as “victims of political persecution” for having slandered the president.
In several tweets, Correa referred to the corrupt press, the journalist degree of Villavicencio accredited by a fraudulent university, and Section 456 of the Spanish Penal Code, which refers to false slander. “These are the ‘victims of political persecution’ of Ecuador.! Compulsive liars defended by the politicking press. Onward to victory always!,” the president concluded.
