The Pope arrives to Rio de Janeiro, where protests against corruption in Brazil are announced
Next Thursday, during the visit of Pope Francisco to the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Rio Anonymous Group will lead a demonstration, which would begin in Copacabana, coinciding with the meeting of President Dilma Rousseff with the Catholic representative.
“It is not against the Catholic Church. The idea is to exploit the presence of the pope, the tourists and the global media,” said the group on Facebook. “It will be a cry over corruption and to claim for decent public services,” the activist group added.
The protest will be held in the middle of the Via Crucis, which is prayed by the Pope and is considered one of the main events on the Pope’s agenda, who will be chairing the World Youth Day in Rio from tomorrow until the 28th of this month.
Authorities have tightened security in the city against possible new mass street protests.

Anonymous Rio called for a massive protest against corruption and the abuse of public funds.
