The Bakers Association complain about the budget that the Government designates to the flour, and because of this they had to increase the price of bread. This way they can level the prices of raw materials.
The president of the Bakers Association Pichincha, Hernán Jácome said: “The talk of flour of the Government is going nowhere, we are paying from our own stores that project.”
There is no choice, the bread makers are aware that this is a risky measure, but they rather increase the price of bread instead of lowering its quality. Jácome stated, “we rather close our business than go bankruptcy”.
Nicolas Lara, of the Bakers Association in Guayaquil also confirmed the increase of these prices.
