The trial against former Assemblyman of Alianza PAIS and three other people accused of alleged bribery, is nearing the end. On the third day of diligence, which took place on the eighth floor of the National Court, Prosecutor Galo Chiriboga submitted the closing arguments.
He accused the former legislator and a former manager of the Water Company of Esmeraldas as perpetrators of the crime according to Section 285, paragraph one of the Integral Organic Criminal Code (COIP for its Spanish acronym).
For a third person the indictment was as perpetrator of the crime but according to Section 290 of the Integral Organic Criminal Code because she was not a public official.
Chiriboga refrained from accusing the fourth prosecuted room because she was not a public official and only followed orders.
