The SCPM creates application to verify product prices

Citizens will be able to verify the prices of the products in commercial establishments through a digital tool set up by the Department of Control of Market Power (SCPM).
The ‘Precios SCPM’ application will allow consumers to have information on the most traded items in food, cleaning and personal hygiene, medicines and building materials. More than 256 products can be checked.
The tool is free and available on the institutional website http://www.scpm.gob.ec.
Superintendent Pedro Páez said that the control agency has created several mechanisms for clients to report abuse on the part of stores. “The applications are an SCPM strategy to structure a new field of citizen mobilization,” Paez emphasized. (I)
