The services sector generates 1.9 million jobs
Services contribute about 60% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to figures from the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE).
The tertiary or services sector is the one that includes activities related to the _ non-producing assets tasks.
It includes subsectors such as trade, transport, communications, call centers, finance, tourism, hospitality, leisure, culture, entertainment, public administration and the so-called public services (health, education, customer care), among others.
Nathalie Cely, Coordinating Minister of Production, Employment and Competitiveness stressed that there is great potential in the services sector, “this motivates us to believe that Ecuador can move forward in this segment, with a view to a strategic internationalization and the strengthening of a more productive and competitive private sector.”
